Willie Lee Pinkston was born May 2, 1948 to Robert Pinkston, Sr. and Lucy Ross Pinkston in Metter, Georgia. He entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 16, 2021 in Augusta, Georgia. Willie attended the public schools of Candler County. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after five years of service.
Several years ago, he returned to Metter and became an active member of Saint Luke Independent Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Alton J. West Men's Chorus and the St. Luke Independent Methodist Church Choir.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, three sons, Phillip Pinkston, Skinakka Pinkston, Keon Pinkston; three daughters, Casandra Hardy (Gregg), Tashenia Easterling and Tiawanda Ellis; one brother, Julius Pinkston; twenty-one grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a dear cousin, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021 at New Life Baptist Church in Aline, Georgia. If the weather is inclement, there will be private service (due to Covid19) at the W.H. Whitaker Memorial Chapel at Whitaker Funeral Home.
