Treyveon Amar Lanier affectionately known to family and friends as “Trey” was born September 4, 2006, in Statesboro, Georgia, to Kimberly Newton and Trayon Lanier of Metter, Georgia. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022
Trey attended Metter High School; he was a rising Sophomore for the 2022-2023 school year. He was a member if the Metter High School basketball team, football team, and the track team. Trey was passionate about playing in the Amateur Athletic Union “AAU”, a member of the Statesboro Highlights. His cousin, Elijah was his teammate and, Lenton, Sr., their grandfather, was the coach. His grandfather would be there cheering him on. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. One of his favorite pastimes was playing video games.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Anthony Dekle Sr. and great- grandmother, Dyann Dekle.
Treyveon is survived by: his mother, Kimberly Newton; fathers, Trayon Lanier and Lawrence Hobbs, Jr.; two sisters, Tramiya Lanier and Alexius Newton; one brother, Taylen Lanier all of Metter, GA; grandparents, Lenton Williams, Sr. and Deneatra of Statesboro, GA and Lawrence, Sr. and Earlene Hobbs of Metter, GA; two grandmothers, Karen Dekle and Syliva Williams both of Metter, GA; one great-grandfather, William T. Dekle of Metter, GA; two great grandmothers; Martha Lanier of Metter, GA and Jesse Lou Thomas of Brooklet GA; seven uncles; Anthony Dekle, Jr. of Metter GA, William “Mookie” Dekle of Atlanta, GA, Lenton Williams, Jr., Kadric Williams, Jaden Williams all of Statesboro, GA, Adrian Hobbs and Flando Hobbs of Metter, GA; five aunts; Kelly Robinson (Christopher) of Atlanta, GA, LaNette Shaw (Kelvin), Ilayja Williams both of Statesboro, GA, Kaywana Hobbs of Metter, GA and Freddie Mae Lane (Antrexe); a devoted cousin Elijah Dickerson; two devoted friends, Jamarreon Morgan and Michael Thomas Woods and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
