Mrs. Theresa DeLoach Torrence, age 81, passed into eternal rest on Monday, September 18, 2023 at her residence, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Theresa was born in Register, Georgia to the late Henry and Relia Deloach. She is a graduate of William James High School, the class of 1962. After graduating from high school, Theresa furthered her education at Swainsboro Tech of Swainsboro, GA and became licensed as a Practical Nurse. For twenty years, she was employed as a nurse at Bulloch Memorial Hospital, Statesboro, GA. She later gained employment at Georgia Southern University where she worked for twenty-seven years in Health Services.
She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Register, Georgia.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, Henry DeLoach, Lewis DeLoach, and Harold DeLoach, a sister who died at birth, Albertha DeLoach, two stepsons, Eddie L. Gay and Lee Marvin Torrence, one stepdaughter, Windal Denise Torrence.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her devoted husband, Willie Marvin Torrence; sons, Curtis L. Young of Alaska and Romona Tyrone Young of Statesboro; one daughter, Shaunitica Faith Torrence of Statesboro; twelve stepchildren, Larry Allen (Bonita) Gay of Mississippi, Dwellie Torrence and Diane Dawson Jones both of Portal, Bobby Lee Torrence of Florida, Mary J. (Reggie) Dozier of Covington, Windal Darrin Torrence of Atlanta, Christie Stephens of Stone Mountain, Anthony ( Carmen) Torrence of Grayson, William (Laurinda) Cone of Clito, Ann Torrence Hester of Statesboro, Franklin Torrence of Oklahoma, and Windal Jason (LaToya) Torrence of North Carolina; two brothers, Samuel (Ruth) DeLoach of Valdosta and Frank (Kate) DeLoach both of Warner Robins; four sisters, Rosie Grover of Tampa, Alma Ruth Rickerson of St. Petersburg, Alberta (Larry) Rawls of Clito and Shirley DeLoach of Statesboro; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, forty-two grandchildren, a host of greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
