Teresa Mosley Obituary

Mother Teresa Hobbs Mosley was born to Britt Stamp and Lovely Holland Hobbs on October 13, 1941 in Candler County, Georgia. She was the last surviving child of her eight siblings. She departed this life on May 8, 2023 after a long illness. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mack “Jesse” Mosley, Jr and her children, Marilyn Mosley, David Rico Mosley and Terrill Mosley.

She was united in marriage to Mack “Jesse” Mosley, Jr. on December 31, 1960. To this union, five children were born. Teresa accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age and joined Holy Zion Holiness Church in Portal, GA under the leadership of Bishop Talmadge Wilder. Mack and Teresa relocated their family in 1969 to Cambridge, Massachusetts where they lived until her retirement from Harvard University in 1990.

Upon her return to Bulloch County, Teresa was employed at Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Statesboro retiring from there in 2005. She reconnected with Holy Zion Holiness Church in Statesboro and served faithfully as an usher and church mother for many years. In her later years, she joined New Beginning Outreach Ministries serving under Pastor Willie Mae Williams. “Mother Mosley” or “Aunt T” as she was affectionately known, was loved and cherished by many in the community.

Mother Mosley leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, Parcella Mosley of Portal, GA and Roberta (Ronald) White of St. Augustine, FL; a nephew and nieces who she helped to raise, Calvin (Senetra) Hobbs, Atlanta, GA, Kathy Hobbs, Douglasville, GA and Becky Hobbs of Boston, MA; her grandchildren (whom she helped to raise), Minister Shayla (Ashley) Donaldson of Metter, GA, Minister Ciara (Randy) Lawrence, Portal, GA and Taja Mosley of Statesboro, GA, Ronald White, III and Marquel Wade-Mosley, Boston, MA; great-grandchildren: MacKenzie Mosley, Xavier Lawrence, RaNyah Lawrence, Ashlynn Donaldson, Micah Mosley, Alden Donaldson, Mack Young and Ariyah Wade-Mosley; sister-in-law, Sula Mosley, brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Rosemary Mosley of Portal, GA as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
