Tera Donaldson Hobbs, affectionately known as “Granny”, was born May 5, 1934, in Metter, Georgia, to Frank, Sr. and Luree Donaldson. Tera transitioned to walk with God on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, after spending 88 wonderful years on this Earth. She dedicated her love to God and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Pulaski, Georgia. She received her education from Byrd Junior High School.
As a young woman, Tera was a homemaker, raising her children and taking care of her husband. Later, she joined the workforce and was a dedicated employee of Metter Nursing Home for many years. As her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews can all attest, she loved being with her family! Granny loved “cackling” on the phone, going uptown to shop, and serving those good home cooked meals we all loved!
Tera is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Coley A. Hobbs; siblings, Frank Jr., Cora, Lehman, Elizabeth, Hubert, Gertrude, Lula, Arillion, Marie, Minnie, and Dewey; and daughters, Ethel Mae Hall, Wanda Hobbs-Whitaker, and Kathy Hobbs.
Tera leaves many loving memories to her four children, Frederick (Jeanette) Donaldson of Miami, FL, Andre (Susan) Donaldson and Alton Hobbs both of Metter, GA, and Craig (Angela) Hobbs of Brunswick, GA; one sister, Alma Griffin of Metter, Georgia; special granddaughters, Daysha West, to whom Granny raised as her very own daughter, and Cynthia (Dennis) Smith both of Metter, Georgia; special family friend Linda (Kevin) King of Metter, Georgia; and a legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces.
The Staff of Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to support and serve the Hobbs/Donaldson family with Dignity, Respect and Integrity.
