Evangelist Susie Wilkerson Collins was born on April 4, 1948 in Metter, Georgia to the late Emmit Wilkerson, Sr. and Beola Henry Wilkerson. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 22, 2015, at the Candler County Hospital in Metter, Georgia. At an early age, she joined Sams Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Later, she joined Solomon Temple International LLC in Swainsboro, Georgia. Her infant son; set of infant twins; parents; brother and sisters, Claude Wilkerson, Virginia Wilkerson Mincey and Nellie Wilkerson Hart preceded her in death.
Susie is a 1966 graduate of Lillian Street High School. She worked at American Argo for many years until they closed. She graduated from Swainsboro Technical College (Southeastern Technical College) with a diploma in Early Childhood Education and Related Care and was a child care provider for over twenty years. She also received her Bachelor of Theology from Solomon’s Temple International LLC School of Theology. Susie was also employed with ResCare Homecare as a homecare provider.
She leaves to cherish fond memories by her husband of 43 years, Mr. Vonyer Collins; two sons, Travis Jackson and Elder Thaddeus Collins of Metter; one daughter, Kristie Collins of Metter; four sisters, Ms. Maggie Wilkerson of Atlanta; Ms. April Wilkerson of Stockbridge; Ms. Sherry Cheeves of Statesboro; and Ms. Charlene Wilkerson of Metter; four brothers, Mr. Edward Wilkerson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Mr. Ray C. Wilkerson and Mr. Emmitt Wilkerson, Jr. of Metter; and Mr. Wallace Wilkerson of Savannah; two brothers-in-law, John Collins of Claxton, Curtis (Mattie) Collins of Cobbtown, two sisters-in-law, Jewel Wilkerson and LaVera Rickerson of Metter; four aunts, Katie Jones of Charlotte, NC, Annie Byrd, Mildred H. Grant, and Amy W. Henry all of Metter; one great-aunt, Mary Alice Ellis (Curtis) of Metter; four grandchildren, Kelly Holloway, Keanu Holloway, Kalitah Wright, and KeDonnis Wright of Metter; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
