Shelly Johnson

Ms. Shelly Ann Johnson (affectionately known as “Pokie”) of Metter, Georgia, entered into eternal rest February 17, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center, Savannah, Georgia.  She was born May 16, 1957 to Ms. Betty Jean Johnson in Metter, Georgia.

Shelly was educated in Candler County, Georgia, Gracewood,Georgia, and Statesboro, Georgia.  At an early age she joined Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Pulaski, Georgia, where she remained a member until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Gene Johnson; her grandparents, Joe and Annie Mae Johnson.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her mother, Betty Jean Johnson of Metter, GA; her sister, LaVerne Johnson of Register, GA; two brothers, Paul Johnson of Savannah, GA and Bobby Joe Johnson (Sondra) of Woodbridge, VA; two aunts, Lora Johnson (Thomas) of Metter, GA and Ruby Wright of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two uncles, Corsey Johnson and Johnnie Johnson (Mildred) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two nieces, Brittany Johnson of Metter, GA and Bobbi Taylor Johnson of Woodbridge, VA; a special niece and nephew, Aaliyah Johnson and Dwight Matheson both of Metter, GA; a host of loved ones and friends; two God sisters, Daisy Brown and Toni Johnson.
