Roosevelt Lainer

Mr. Roosevelt Lanier was born in Candler, County, Georgia on January 15, 1933 to Mr. Willie (Coot) and Mrs. Mabel Peoples Lanier. He departed this life Thursday, January 1, 2015.

Roosevelt attended Lebonon Baptist Church in Plainfield, New Jersey. He was employed by Plainfield Lumber for a number of years. Later, he was employed by Harris Steel unitl he retired. The family relocated to Garfield, Georgia in 2005.

He was inted in holy matrimony to Mary Coney. He was a devoted father and husband to his family. Roosevelt was preceded in in death by one son, Troy Lanier.

Roosevelt is survived by his wife, Mary Lanier; three sons, Roosevelt Lainer, Jr., Stevie Lanier and Matthew Lanier; one daughter, Alzadia (Kelvin) Smith; one brother, Herbert (Mary) Lanier;  three sisters, Annie Ruth, Amy Johnson, Lucelle Beal; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nephews, neices, relatives and friends.
