Roosevelt Stevenson Brunson (known to many as Steve) was born to Mr. Purvis Brunson, Sr. and Wyonnie Hobbs-Mincey on February 20, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois.
At an early age, Steve joined Lakeside First Baptist Church in Metter, GA. Later, as an adult, he moved his membership to Miracle Temple in Metter, GA, where he served the Lord as a faithful member.
Steve received his formal education from the public schools of Candler County, GA and was a member of the Metter High School Class of 1986. Steve was a professional barber and for many years he was also employed by the Flint Industries in Metter, GA.
Steve excelled in so many ways: in his devotion to his faith, with his insights on life, at the sports that he loved, and at his profession that he enjoyed. Steve brought much enthusiasm and character to the lives of his family and friends. He was an out-spoken, firm, loving and comical individual.
On Thursday, January 23, 2020, Mr. Roosevelt Stevenson Brunson received his blessing by being released from all cares, trials, and suffering of this life at his residence in Augusta GA surrounded by love ones.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Purvis Brunson, Sr.; his mother, Wyonnie Hobbs-Mincey; one brother, Purvis Brunson, Jr.; one sister, Laverne Hobbs-Thomas; maternal grandparents, Willie and Minnie Hobbs, and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Gertie Mae Brunson.
Steve leaves to cherish precious memories, his wife, Betty Gail Brunson, Metter, GA; one son Ke'ondre Williams, Metter, GA; two stepsons, Damian Eason, Metter, GA and Daquan Eason, Woonsocket, RI; four brothers, Gary D. Mincey, Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Purvis Brunson, Jr., Patrick Brunson, and Eric Brunson all of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Robbin “Mushroom” Brunson, Metter, GA and Coco N. Mincey, Statesboro, GA; four uncles and eight aunts; two great aunts and two great uncles; one great-great aunt; his step father, Eddie McCormick, Metter, GA; his father and mother-in-law, Van, Sr. and Betty Eason, Alexandria, LA; one brother-in-law, six sisters-in-law; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
