Phyllis Larance (Smith) Fluellen

Mrs. Phyllis L. Fluellen was born September 1, 1958, in Bulloch County, Georgia to the late Elder Bennie Smith and Betty Jean Smith. She peacefully transitioned from this walk of life on Sunday, August 6, 2023. She attended the public schools of Atlanta, Georgia and was a graduate of Turner High School, class of 1976.

After graduation, she attended Grady’s School of Radiology and Technology, where she earned her certification and became an X-Ray Technologist. Phyllis was employed with Grady Hospital and was a supervisor until her retirement in 2018.

Phyllis personally accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She later met and married the love of her life, Ronald Steven Fluellen. This union was blessed with a son, Christopher Ronald Fluellen. With her family, Phyllis joined the Word of Reconciliation Apostolic Church where they served faithfully until the Lord led them to Apostolic Tabernacle, there she served until her death.

Along with her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Chris, one sister, Sharon Smith, her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Luvenia Fluellen.

Phyllis leaves to honor her life, her husband of 43 years, Ronald Fluellen; daughter-in-law, Shominique Fluellen; three grandchildren, Nicholas Houston, Niya Christine and Nasir Alexander Fluellen and their mother, Echo; stepmother, Ruth Smith; three sisters, Bernita Smith, Tori Standifer, and Regina Smith; one aunt, Annie Ruth Johnson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends.
