Nathaniel Pough

Nathaniel Pough was born in Tattnall County, Georgia on July 27, 1949 to Rev. Joe Nell Pough, Sr. and Mrs. Henrietta Collins Pough. He attended the public schools of Tattnall County—Collins Elementary School in Collins, Georgia and Tattnall County Industrial High School in Reidsville, Georgia. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Collins. Nathaniel, who had two nicknames, Fan and Nat, left Collins in his late teens to find work. He made New York his home for nearly fifty years. He transitioned from this life on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

Nathaniel was a member of Zion Gospel Church in Copiague, New York under the leadership of Pastor Willard Price. He served on the Deacon Board. He worked and retired from Tanner Industries Chemical Company after more than thirty years of employment.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Daislee Pough and Alberta Pough; one brother, Joe Nell Pough, Jr. On April 8, 2021, his twin brother, Samuel Pough entered into eternal rest. On April 9, 2021, his brother, John Frank Pough also transitioned into eternal rest.

He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory one daughter, Latisha; one son, Tyronne; seven sisters, Pearl Battle, Leona Bolden, Fadell Butler(Jerome), Gloria Johnson (Christopher); Viola Dawatole (Kayode), Carrie Mae Rodgers, Cassandra Butler (Marvin); five brothers, John E. Pough, Cleotha Pough (Sinnie), Kermit Pough (Beulah), Cleveland Pough and Ronnie Pough (Sheila); a sister-in-law, Barbara Pough; two aunts, Pennie Ann Johnson and Eva Lee Collins; grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pending the weather, burial may be at a later time.
