Morris Smith

Deacon Morris Smith was born in Stillmore, Georgia to the late Clifford and Sallie Brown Smith on April 24, 1925. He departed this walk of life on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Camilla Health and Rehabilitation Center in Claxton, Georgia.

He served honorably in the United States Navy for several years. Deacon Smith was married to the former Mattie Burnese Edenfield. He and his wife lived in New York, New York for over fifty (50) years before returning to Georgia in 1998. After returning to Georgia, he joined Steep Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Metter, Georgia, where he served faithfully as a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by his wife and three children. He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, James Smith of New York, New York; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
