Minnie Eva Hodges was born on December 11, 1937 to the late Eulice Byrd and the late Lucille Hobbs in Pulaski, Georgia. In the stillness of the early morning, Thursday, October 1, 2020, Minnie Eva Hodges was called home at the age of 82.
She was educated in the Candler County School System. Minnie Eva will be remembered as a great old-fashioned cook who loved to cook for everyone. Minnie Eva work hard and was always willing to help those in need.
Minnie Eva was a member of Lakeside First Baptist Church. She served as an usher and was head of the Kitchen Committee. Cooking for others gave her such joy!
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Jim Hobbs, her son, Calvin Hodges, Her sister, Helen Byrd, and her brothers, Henry L. Byrd and J.R. Hobbs.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Teresa L. Hobbs (a special friend, Austin Huff) of Metter, Georgia; one brother, Earl Burke of Metter, Georgia; three nephews, Henry L. (Marvis) Tyler of Joliet, Illinois, Mickey Smith of Chicago, Illinois and James (Bridget) Hobbs of Rockledge, Florida; one niece, LaChelby (Izell, Jr.) Scott; one great niece, Krystal (Maurice) Brannen; three great nephews, Khedoni Tyler, Izell Scott, III and Ivan Scott; two great-great nephews, Aaron Collins and Maurice Brannen, Jr.; one great-great niece, Raelyn Brannen; and a devoted and special cousin, Calvin (Irene) Walker; special friends, Darrell (Eyvonne) Hart; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
