His Life & Legacy
Mr. Michael Bennett, 49, was born to Robert Lane and Alberta Bennett on June 28, 1975. He entered eternal rest on October 31, 2024, after an illness.
Early in life, he became a member of Mt. Chapel Baptist Church, Lyons, GA and he later joined Tremont Temple Baptist Church, Metter, GA. Michael aka “Mike” was a graduate of Swainsboro High School, Swainsboro, Georgia. Mike was a diligent worker. For more than 25 years he found employment with various companies to include: The Little Chic Restaurant, The City of Metter, Bass Construction Company, and Roy Roofing Company. He was an exceptional mechanic and would gladly offer his mechanic expertise to his neighbors and friends. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. One of his favorite things in life was horseback riding.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one stepson, Tyree Mack.
Michael leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Patricia Bennett of Metter, GA; four sons, Tykey Mack, Geoffrey Thurman, Juwan Taylor, Zykee Williams; two daughters, Ola Taylor and Mileya Thurman all of Metter, GA; one brother, Harold Ricks of Swainsboro, GA; eight sisters, Crystal (Fredrick) Thomas of Kathleen, GA, Natalie Harris of Augusta, GA, Tammy (Tyson) Ricks , Ann Ricks, Tiquita(Derrick)Hills, Latika Cuyler, Tiffany Lane all of Swainsboro, GA, and Tawanda (Tony) Irvin of Metter, GA; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a host of aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews; special nieces, Tawanda McCullough, Brittany Daughtry, and Zion Saffore and many other relatives and friends.
