Melvin Posley was born September 14, 1956 to the late Ellis (E.J.) Posley and Pauline Buie Posley. On January 27, 2019, our beloved, Melvin, departed this life.
Melvin was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County, Georgia. He attended the public schools of Emanuel County and at an early age, he joined the First Baptist Church of Stillmore, Georgia. He enjoyed driving and repairing cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Buie.
He leaves to cherish his memory, six daughters, Turkessa Gordon of Warner Robins, GA, Tameka Byrd of St. Petersburg, FL, Kimberly Durden of Lawrenceville, GA, Tmekka Peterson (Lavonte) of Stillmore, GA, Tarika Gordon of Swainsboro, GA and Lucretia Mincey of Metter, GA; four brothers, James Mincey of Pennsgrove, NJ, Leroy E. Posley (Nina) of Atlanta, GA, Alexander Posley of Newport News, VA and Timothy L. Posley (Felicia) of Stillmore, GA; three sisters, Veronica Byrd of Poinciana, FL, Vertia Allen (USAF Ret. LTC Conrad) of Miami, FL and Lois Moore (Franklin) of Metter, GA; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his ex-wife, Melody Phillips of Stillmore, GA; several aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends, a special friend, Pamela Gallon.
