Mary Louise Glynn Mobley was born September 19, 1944, in Toombs County, Georgia, to the late Willie and Inez Gaffney Glynn. She entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at her home in Reidsville, Georgia.
Mary was a graduate of Lyons Industrial High School. As a young adult, she worked as a nursing assistant at Tattnall Memorial Hospital, in Reidsville. Later, she studied cosmetology after which she opened and operated her own beauty salon for several years. Continuing with the entrepreneurial spirit and her love for cooking, in the latter years of her life she was the owner and operator of Big Momma’s Restaurant in Reidsville.
Mary was a dedicated member St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church of Reidsville.
Along with her love of cooking and caregiving, she found great joy in joking around, laughing and having fun with family and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Mobley; one son, Willie Glynn; three brothers, Henley Glynn, Willie Lee Glynn, and Alphonzo Glynn.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Charles Edward Mobley, Casaundra (Gerry) Young, Carmen Dillihunt, and Henry Mobley all of Reidsville, GA; two adopted children, Demetria S. Jones, Lyons, GA, and Garak M. Young, Reidsville, GA; two brothers, Lucius (Gloria) Glynn, Jonesboro, GA and James L. (Delores) Glynn, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one sister, Annie G. Smith, Decatur, GA; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many loving nephews and nieces.
