Marjorie R. Shinhoster was born in Bulloch County, Georgia on September 27, 1950, to the late James, Jr. and Neta Bell McCormick Hills. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Heritage Inn Health Rehabilitation, Statesboro, Georgia.
At an early age she gave her life to Christ. For over forty years, she was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, Metter, Georgia. She served faithfully as an usher and greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. For many years, she worked for the Candler County Board of Education as a custodian.
Marjorie enjoyed watching her soap operas and games shows. She especially loved helping to care for her great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Shinhoster; two sisters, Stella Hills and Rena Atkinson; three brothers, Robert Hills, Joe Hills, and Dale Hills.
She leaves to cherish many memories: three daughters, Terry Shinhoster and Francesa Shinhoster both Statesboro, GA, Nicole Washington, Metter GA; two sons, Kelvin (Starr) Shinhoster and Sean Shinhoster both of Metter, GA; one sister; Juanita Morris of Metter, GA; one brother, Billy Hills, Statesboro, GA and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.
