Lugreta Lawrence aged 60, departed this life on January 12, 2025, after a long illness. She was born on July 30, 1964, to William “Bill” Carwell, Sr. and Juanita Browder Jamerson. Lugreta attended Reidsville High School, where she graduated in 1982. She attended Georgia Southern University for a short time. Lugreta retired medically from the Candler County School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Roxane Carwell, Vanessa Branch; a brother John Davis, Sr and a brother-in-law, Lee Roberson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Sammy Lawrence of Metter; her son Legregory (Deaiddra) Lawrence of Metter, GA; four grandchildren, Shamiyah Lawrence, Melanie Griffin, Sierra Lawrence, De’Nyla Lawrence of Metter, GA; two sisters, LaWanda Carwell of Collins, GA, and Colette Smith of Augusta, GA; six brothers, William Carwell, Jr of Reidsville, GA, Lee (Linda) Carwell of Metter, GA, Charles Jamerson, Jr. of Metter, GA, Bernard (Beverly) Mincey of Atlanta, GA, Harold Jamerson of Statesboro, GA and Raymond Hayes of Savannah, GA; five brother-in-law, Willie (Debbie) Lawrence of Metter, GA, Robert (Connie) Lawrence of Metter, GA, John (Mary) Lawrence of Metter, GA, Joseph (LaShawndra) Lawrence of Metter, GA, and George (Ramona) Lawrence of Statesboro, GA; four sisters-in-law; Shellie (Herbert) Dillard of Jacksonville, Fla, Maggie (Nathan) Frazier of Statesboro, GA, Alma (James) Brown of Metter, GA, and Rose (Wayne) Williams of Metter, GA; four godchildren; Christy and Christopher Lawrence, Carmencita Fann, and Desmond (DJ) Redding, Jr.; lifelong friends, Andria (Art) Holmes, Ms. Eva Moore, and Joseph Moore of Reidsville, GA; a special close friend, Bernita Smith of Metter, GA, and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
