Lucy Ross Pinkston was born in Candler County , Georgia on October 20, 1920 to the late Henry and Rosa Ross. She resided and worked in and around Candler County all of her life. She was a very loving and straightforward person. Lucy was known and admired by many. She was affectionately known in the community as “Ma Lucy”.
Lucy was married to Robert Pinkston, Sr. who preceded her in death many years ago. She was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Aline, Georgia. She was employed at Claxton Poultry and retired from there after more than ten years of service.
Along with her parents and her husband, Lucy was preceded in death by three brothers, Amos Ross, Pete Ross and Sam Ross; one sister, Thelma Ross; six children, Pearlene Dekle, Robert Pinkston, Jr. Lonnie Mae Hall, Homer Pinkston, Vernell Pinkston and Joe Pinkston.
Lucy leaves to mourn her passing: two sons, Willie Lee Pinkston and Julius John Pinkston and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.
