Mr. Louis Smith, Jr. was born April 8, 1942 in Miami, Florida, to the late Louis Smith, Sr. and Lillie Mae Smith. Louis was one of four children. He entered into the gates of heaven on December 26, 2014.
At an early age, Louis became a member of Temple Baptist Church and later Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Miami, Florida. He became a member Durden Grove Missionary Baptist Church in his later years. He received his education at Bunche Park Elementary School, North Dade Middle School and completed at Northwestern Senior High School. In 1960, he attended FAMU, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and graduated in 1962.
In 1961, Louis joined in marriage to Mrs. Eva Robinson Smith. To this union two children were born, Marlo Smith and Gantry (Tracy) Smith.
Following his father’s footsteps, he became an auto body mechanic at Nolan Brown Cadillac in Miami, Florida.
He leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories; a devoted wife of 53 years, Eva Smith, one daughter, Marlo (Sunshine) Smith, Miami, FL; one son, Gantry (Tracy) Smith, Atlanta, GA; one brother, Eugene (Rosia) Smith, Miami, FL; two sisters, Helene Giles and Susie Peterson, both of Miami, FL; two aunts, Lois A. Williams, Swainsboro, GA, Gertrude Smith, Twin City, GA; mother-in-law, Lula Mae Robinson, Twin City, GA; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Reynolds and Mary A Cross, both of Twin City, GA; two brothers-in-law, Felix Robinson, Orlando, FL, and Stanley (Teresa) Robinson, Atlanta, GA; three granddaughters, Marquita Smith, Shaiyah Bynes and Christian Clark; one great grandchild, Madison Walker and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
