Little Willie Mincy Obituary

Little Willie Claud Mincy, 92, was born to Asberry and Queen V. Ellis Mincy on May 17, 1932, in Cobbtown, Georgia. He was the fourth child of nine. He attended the public schools of Candler County, Georgia. After receiving his education, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, in 1953, beginning his lifelong career in construction.  Eventually, he became a General Contractor.

After perfecting his craft as a General Contractor, he relocated to Miami, Florida, in 1973. Pieces of his work can be found all around Miami, Dade County. After retiring, Claud returned home, where he enjoyed spending time with his sister, Tiny. Together, they enjoyed watching Westerns and playing his guitar.

Claud departed his life on Friday, November 15, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Ernie Willie Mincy and Marier Mincy; three brothers, Asberry Mincy Jr., Charlie Leo Mincy, and Edgar A. Mincy; four sisters, Sarah Mincy, Mable Cook, Mary P. Mincy, and Leomia M. Williams.

Claude’s memory will be cherished by two daughters,  Melissa Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia, Shannrica Tansion Tucker (William) of Pelham, AL; four sons, Andre Claude Mincey, Sr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Shannron Tristan Mincey (Jennifer) of Greeneville, TN, Narquise A. Mincey (Elsie) and Marquise A. Mincey, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.;  two sisters, Lilla Mae Barlow and Thelma Tansion Davis both of Newark, NJ; twenty-two grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren; his nephews, Little Chris Powell of Metter, GA, Tristan Davis, Herbert Barlow both of Newark, NJ and Marvin Williams of PA; one niece, Terese Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Mincey of Metter, GA, and Tremica Morgan of Margate, FL; three brothers-in-law, Ian Trowers of Youngstown, OH Leighton Trowers and Lance Trowers of Miami, FL., and a special cousin, Edith Henry of Metter, GA.

Claude was loved and will be remembered for his kindness and compassion toward others. He was not only a fantastic dad and brother; he was also a mentor, role model, and friend. He will be remembered for the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them; if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity and strength; he will be missed dearly.
