Leroy "Buck" Moore

Leroy E. Moore was born on April 10, 1960 in Candler County, Georgia to Leroy and Annie Mae Moore. He attended the public schools of Candler County and he was a member of the 1978 graduating class of Metter High School.  

Leroy served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1985. After his enlistment, he returned to the Candler County area and gained employment at Georgia Southern University. At the time of his death, he had been employed there for thirty-four years and worked as a supervisor in the housekeeping department.

Leroy departed this life on Friday, January 4, 2019 in Statesboro, Georgia.  He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish precious and fond memories, his loving companion, Brenda Carr of Metter, Georgia; one brother and sister-in- law, David and Sandra Moore of Phoenix City, Alabama; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Bertha and Kenneth Mosley of Statesboro, Georgia, Betty Harmon of Jacksonville, Florida and Ashley Moore of Metter, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
