Ms. Leola Belle Holmes, affectionately known as “Lee” to many, was born May 30, 1948 in Reidsville, GA to the union of the late Charlie Holmes, Jr. and the late Ora Lee Snowden Holmes.  

 She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and worshipped in service with her late parents, siblings, and friends.  She attended Tattnall County schools and later graduated from Evans County High School in Claxton, GA.  She pursued a nursing degree at Swainsboro Technical Institute in Swainsboro, GA where she graduated as a licensed practical nurse (LPN).  She practiced many years as a nurse in Fort Lauderdale, FL before making Claxton, GA her last home before her calling.
  
At the age of 22, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Arthur Zerone Harden to whom she bore two sons, Jammie Zerone and Nicholas Sentell Harden.

She was said to be resting with God on Monday, July 20, 2015 and was preceded in death by her parents and two of her brothers, Charlester and Willie James Holmes. 

Lee leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her two sons, Jammie of Snellville, GA and Nicholas of Lawrenceville, GA; three brothers, Raleigh Holmes, Sr. of Claxton, GA, Dannie Lee Holmes of Columbus, GA, and Jimmy Dean (Andreana) Holmes of Covington, GA; seven sisters, Deloris Lee Mincey of Claxton, GA, Drucellia (Wayne) Reynolds of Lakeland, FL, Catherine Parks of Covington, GA, Mary Ann (Johnny) Bacon of Daisy, GA, Janie Marie (Abraham) Henderson of Pembroke Park, FL, Janice (Kenneth) Waters of Conyers, GA, and Evelina Holmes Cooper of Conyers, GA; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
