Lenora (Collins) Gordon

Lenora Collins Gordon was born July 20, 1926 in Laurens County, Georgia to the late Samuel and Eva Wise Collins. She peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro, Georgia.

At an early age, Lenora accepted Christ in her life as her Savior. She received her education in the public schools of Laurens, County, Georgia. As a young adult she resided in Belle Glade, Florida, there she met and married James Gordon, Sr.

Lenora was an avid reader and loved to study the Bible. She had a great passion for worshiping, praising God and attending church. Lenora was also known for being a traveler, spending quality time with her family, cooking and making ice cream.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, Elder James Gordon, Sr., her oldest son, James, Jr., and her sister, Minnie Cannon.

Lenora leaves to cherish many loving memories: two sons, Lavonte Tyree (Tmekka) Peterson and Willie Morris (Johnnie Mae) Gordon all of Stillmore, GA; two daughters, Linda Gordon-Lowe and Cynthia Gordon-Boatwright both of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Lanita Lowe, Tiffany Lowe, Senner Davis, Antonio Johnson, James Lester Davis, Jr., Cyndee Lenora Boatwright, Christopher Todd Patterson, Julanda Gordon, Willie Forest Gordon; nineteen great grandchildren; one brother in law, Floyd (Betty) Gordon, Stillmore, GA; three sisters in law, Vilue Gordon, Stillmore, GA,  Julia Nell Gordon, Douglas, GA, and Rosie Gordon, Enterprise, Alabama and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
