Mr. Larry Lee Cheley, Jr. was born on March 31, 1980, in Metter, Georgia, to the late Larry Lee Cheley and the late Mae Frances Carlton. On May 22, 2025, Larry transitioned from this life at the age of 45.
Larry was educated in the Candler County public school system, where he was known for his quiet demeanor and athletic talent, especially in track and basketball. He proudly graduated with the Metter High School Class of 1999.
Following graduation, Larry answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He served honorably and was awarded an Honorable Discharge for his dedicated service.
After his military service, Larry made his home in Columbus, Georgia. He found great joy in spending time with his family and friends, and he will be remembered for his kind spirit and loyal heart.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Ebony Cheley of Columbus, GA; four beloved children, Colbi Cheley of California, and Nicholas Kornegay, William Kornegay, and Leelah Kornegay, all of Columbus, GA; two devoted brothers, Christopher Lee (Betrese) Cheley of Stillmore, GA, and Danny Lee (Shana Rock) Cheley of Metter, GA; one sister, Bessie Leigh Cheley of Swainsboro, GA; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.
