Kathy Hobbs

Ms. Kathy Hobbs was born on December 20, 1958, in Metter, Georgia to Coley A. and Tera Donaldson Hobbs. She passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022, after brief illness.

She was a member of Lakeside First Baptist Church, Metter, GA. Kathy attended school in Candler County and graduated from Metter High School in the class of 1976. For many years she was a dedicated employee at both Pleasant View Nursing Home and  the former Metter Nursing Home. After her employment Kathy unselfishly dedicated her time helping others, being the primary caretaker for her mother, being devoted to her children and grandchildren, and enjoying the company and conversation of many family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Coley A. Hobbs and her sisters, Ethel Mae Hall and Wanda Hobbs Whitaker.

Kathy leaves to cherish many loving memories: her mother, Tera D. Hobbs; her two children, Cynthia (Dennis) Smith and Collis “Fuzzy” Brown all of Metter, GA; her grandchildren, Brandon Byrd, Amiya Walker, Amia Smith, Kam’ryn Brown, Col’lisiah Brown, and Collis Kilo Brown; her siblings, Frederick (Jeanette) Donaldson of Miami, FL, Andre (Susan) Donaldson, Alton Hobbs both of Metter, GA, and Craig (Angela) Hobbs of Brunswick, GA; devoted family members: an aunt, Alma Griffin; nephew, Bryan Collins, Sr.; niece, Daysha West; great nephew, Byran Collins, Jr.; along with special friends; Glenver Griffin, Ernest Tapley, Sondra Johnson and a host of family and friends.
