Katherine Marie Elwell, lovingly known as Nanna and Meme, passed away on June 8, 2024, at the age of 83. She was born on October 13, 1940, in Charleston, Maine, and most recently resided in Metter, Georgia.
Katherine dedicated her career to healthcare, providing care and support to those in need. She was proud of her profession and the contributions she made in the field.
One of Katherine's favorite pastimes was riding motorcycles and enjoying cookouts with her loved ones. Her adventurous spirit and zest for life were truly inspiring.
Above all, Katherine cherished her role as a grandmother and great grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, believing they could do no wrong. She was their constant source of love and guidance.
Katherine was also known for being the glue that held her large family together during difficult times. Her love and support were unwavering, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Katherine is survived by her loving husband, David Elwell of Lincoln, Maine; one daughter, Sherry Mann of Metter, GA, one son, Danny Mann of Milo, Maine; her grandson William Mann, whom she adopted as her own, and granddaughter’s Miranda Mann of Aline, Georgia, and Bobie Jo Bartlett of Metter, GA who was always by Katherine's side, providing care and comfort. A special great-granddaughter, Cassie Mann of Dexter, Maine, several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
Katherine Marie Elwell will be remembered for her unwavering love, infectious spirit, and the profound impact she had on her family and all those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
A private service will be held at a later date.
