Karon Mainer, 65, of Metter, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019 in the Candler County Hospital in Metter. She was born June 10, 1954 in Bulloch County to C. W. and Kathryn Baldwin Mainer.
Karon attended Lillian Street School and graduated from Metter High School in 1974. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Pulaski. She later moved her membership to Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Metter. For many years, she was a dependable employee of the Moore-Wallace (later R.R. Donnelly) Company of Metter. After the Company closed she gained employment as a child caregiver at Rashida’s Daycare Center and as a dietary aide at Pleasant View Nursing Home.
Karon was preceded in death by her mother; her twin sister, Sharon Mainer and a nephew, Torrey Lee Mincey.
She is survived by: one son, Mario Mainer; one daughter, KelitaMainer; two grandsons, Elijewan Carlyle and Dontae Hicks; her father and stepmother, C.W. and Ouida Mainer; seven brothers, Daniel (Phyllis) Mainer, Michael (Quita) Mainer, Brent Mainer, Joseph (Shannon) Mainer, Tony (Carol) Mainer, Taurus (Shumika) Mainer and Reggie Mainer; five sisters, Linda Mincey, Vernice Bailey, LaVerne (Louell) McCollum, Kathy Islar and Donna Soto; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, to include two special friends, Lora Lanier and Bea Cheley.
