Mr. Johnny Lee Ashley, of Hazlehurst, Georgia, was born January 24, 1950 in Wayne County, Georgia to Mr. Eugene Ashley, Sr., and Mrs. Lucille Smiley Ashley. He departed this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2020 in Candler County, Georgia.
He attended to public schools of Long County, Georgia. After school Johnny enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharges after three years. He was an automobile mechanic by trade. Johnny enjoyed repairing cars, fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of Holy Temple Cobbtown Community Church in Cobbtown, Georgia.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Marie Wallace, Linda Owens, Rosa Williams, and Ruby Mae Smiley; one brother, Bennie Smiley.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Julie Whitfield of Hazlehurst, GA; two sons, Jamie (Candice) Hagan of Ludowici, GA and Johnny (Trikia) Hagan of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Elder Roosevelt (Eva Ann) Ashley of Ludowici, GA and Eugene, Jr. (Dorothy) Ashley of Cobbtown, GA; two sisters, Earlene Bymon of Ludowici, GA and Estella (Fred) Nelson of Hollywood, FL; five sister in laws, Corine Lewis, Patricia Mobley, Mae Mills, Mae Washington, and Louvenia Franklin; one brother in law, Rev. Carl Wardlaw, Jr.; five step children, Carla (Patrick) MFoungui, Sue Thomas, Cynthia (Chester) Mackey, Dennis Leon (Genae Felix) Jordan, and Dennis Bo Jack Jordan, Jr.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, others relatives and friends.
