Johnnie Edwards was born in Metter, Georgia on November 11, 1932, to Nathaniel Edwards and Corrine Lightner. Johnnie resided in Candler County, Georgia all his life and he worked as a logger for many years. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation, Metter, Georgia.
Johnnie had a peaceful nature. He was a loving and caring man who raised many children in his community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Betty Edwards Mincey and four sons, Johnnie Edwards, Jr., David Edwards, Johnathan Edwards and Ronnie Edwards.
He is survived by five sons, Mike Edwards, Rufus Edwards, Billy Earl Edwards, Rodney Edwards and Connie Edwards; one daughter, Betty Rose Williams (Willie Joe); one brother, Marvin Edwards; two sisters, Vera Davis (Franklin) and Bettye Sistrunk (Paul) and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.
