John Franklin Pough was born November 2, 1952 in Tattnall County, Georgia. He was the ninth child of Reverend Joe Nell Pough, Sr. and Henrietta Collins Pough. He was raised in Collins, Georgia and attended Collins Elementary School and graduated from Reidsville High School in 1971. He attended the Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Collins as a youth. He confessed his faith and acceptance of Jesus.
Though his first name was John, he was known as “Frank” to all that knew and loved him. Frank stayed in Collins for a while after graduating high school and then moved to New York with his older brothers. He worked for Ben’s Hydraulics for about ten years before returning to Collins due to illness. When his health got better he did what he could to help his family and friends I the community by doing yard work and other small jobs that he could help with.
Frank loved to have intense conversations of the possibilities in life and what it could mean for his family and others. He lived a casual lifestyle, but he loved to spoil his nieces and nephews. Many of them looked to him as a favorite uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joe Nell Pough, Jr., Samuel Pough and Nathaniel Pough and two sisters, Daislee Pough and Alberta Pough.
He leaves to mourn him a son, Rico Pough (Kimberly), Buckeye, AZ; a daughter, Necole Pough of Hinesville, GA; seven sisters, Pearl Battle, Leona Bolden, Fadell Butler (Jerome), Gloria Johnson (Christopher), Viola Dawatola (Kayode), Carrie Mae Rodgers, and Cassandra Butler (Marvin); five brothers, John E. Pough, Cleotha Pough (Sinnie), Kermit Pough (Beulah) Cleveland Pough, Sr., and Ronnie Pough (Sheila); two aunts, Pennie Ann Johnson and Eva Lee Collins; six grandchildren, Trinity Joseph, Joel Joseph, II, Jacob Joseph, Joshua Joseph, Haleah Joseph, and Ellias Ameer Pough and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
