John ''JC'' Collins

John Collins was born on July 7, 1941 to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford and Elizabeth Kennedy Collins. He answered God’s call on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the St. Joseph / Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. 

“JC” as he was affectionately referred to was born in Metter, Georgia and was reared in Cobbtown, Georgia. He attended the Tattnall Industrial High School, Reidsville, Georgia. He worked in farming throughout Tattnall and Evans Counties.

John was married to the former Barbara Mikell for thirty nine years. He was preceded in death by one son, John Collins, his parents and one sister, Yvonne Holloway.

He leaves to cherish many memories; his wife, Barbara A. Collins; four sons, Joe Collins of Claxton, Georgia, Anthony Mikell of Millen Georgia, Fredrick Mikell of Metter, Georgia and Clifton Collins of Tallahassee, Florida; five daughters, Kathleen Collins of Brunswick, Georgia, Janice Collins of Augusta, Georgia, Madge Collins of Collins, Georgia, Jacquline King of Metter, Georgia and Shalonda Collins of Aline, Georgia; two brother; Vonyer Collins of Metter, Georgia and Curtis (Mattie) Collins Cobbtown, Georgia; two sisters; Lavera Rickerson of Metter, Georgia and Christene Hendrix of Cobbtown, Georgia; twenty five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunt, nephews, nieces and cousins.
