Mr. Jozsef “Joe” Karl was born in Kislod, Hungary on September 8, 1938, to Mihaly Karl and Maria Gaspar. His childhood was spent in Germany. As a young man he moved to Montreal, Canada from Europe in 1955. There he gained employment in a butcher’s shop and honed his skills as a meat cutter.
In 1964, he relocated to the United States – California. He worked at the Rosamond Food Locker as a butcher. In the early 1970’s, Joe gained ownership of the butcher shop and remained the proprietor and butcher until his retirement in 2010. His final move, in 2019, was to Metter, Georgia where he lived a peaceful life until his passing, Tuesday, April, 2, 2024.
Joe was an influential man in the lives of his family and close friends. He was a hardworking, compassionate, and dedicated man who was honest, loving and very generous. He enjoyed gardening and planting flowers from seeds. He had a great love for animals – big and small, especially dogs.
Joe loved John Wayne movies, Detective Colombo, and the movie, 8 Seconds. His favorite city in the whole world was Las Vegas! He loved everything about that city – the shows, the lights and the gambling.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: two daughters, Angie Burgett (Bob) and Lori Boughner (Rebecca); two grandsons, Joey Armstrong (Lauren), Eric Carter (Ashley); two granddaughters, Karen Reichard and Annamarie Boughner; eleven great grandchildren; Mariska, Rawley, Abigail, Jake, Remington, Althea, Richard, Karli Joe, Duke, Bo, Jayson; his loving son, Fenster Karl; and many many granddogs.
