Mr. James Kenneth Walker, lovingly known as Kent, was born October 11,1961 in Tarrytown, Georgia to Mr. James Walker and Ms.Bobbie Jean Guyton.  He passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 in Waynesboro, Georgia due to injuries sustained in a tragic accident.  Kent attended the public schools of Emanuel County and he was a member of the 1978 graduating class of Swainsboro High School.

Having a strong work ethic, he always took any and every employment seriously.  For 21 years , while living in Metter, Georgia, he was employed at the Pleasant View Nursing Home. After returning to Swainsboro, he worked at several places, including Pruitt Health and Swainsboro High School.  At the time of his passing, he was employed by Emanuel Medical Center in environmental services.  At this job Kent exhibited outstanding commitment and drive.  He was a conscientious employee who always worked to keep the environment clean and safe for the patients, medical personnel and staff.

Kent was a loving and devoted father and family man.  He enjoyed family gatherings and times with friends.  From the time of his youth, one of his favorite activities was dancing.  He was a natural on the dance floor.  He also enjoyed shopping.  With an eye for fashion, he was always a well-dressed man.

What was most important to Kent was his relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was a devout Christian, who never hesitated to testify of the love and blessings of the Lord in his life.  He carried the light of Jesus, touching lives with the love of God, everywhere he went.  He was an integral part of two churches in Emanuel County, JESUS SAVES Church and First Baptist Church Stillmore.

Along with his parents, Kent was preceded in death by his wife, Carilena Latrell Walker; his son, Kencerio Walker perished along with him in the accident. Since his death, a brother, Marvin Lee Johnson, Jr. passed away May 27, 2026.
