James Norris "Bubba" Kilcrease

James Norris Kilcrease was born to the late Mr. James Abe and Mrs. Ruthandsome Ellis Kilcrease on October 1, 1950 in Candler County, Metter, Georgia.  He was affectionately known as “Bubba”.

He received his education in the Candler County School System and graduated from the Lillian Street Elementary and High School in 1970.  He attended the Jacksonville Technical School, and later received a degree in Electrical/Heating and Air from Swainsboro Tech, now Southeast Technical College.  

James “Bubba” was employed for many years as an electrical maintenance technician at Pleasant View, Swainsboro, Pulaski and Metter Nursing Homes until he became disabled to work.  In 1991, he was united in holy matrimony to Chyrileen Boston Kilcrease and united himself with the Sam’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church.  He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Candler County Hospital, Metter, GA after a very brief illness.

“Bubba” was preceded in death by a son, Jermaine Kilcrease, a brother, Mr. Willie Edson Kilcrease and two sisters, Ms. Lottie Mae Johnson and Willie Nell Kilcrease.   

Left to cherish his memories, yet mourn his passing are:  a loving wife of twenty-four years, Mrs. Chyrileen Kilcrease, Metter, GA; two daughters, Mrs. LaQuida (Ellis) Godby, Waynesboro, GA and Mrs. LaGuida (Sam) Moore, Charlotte, NC; two special children:  Ms. Sonya Holloway, Register, GA and Mr. Fredrick (Sonja) Holloway, Portal, GA; seventeen grandchildren, Yauna, Morgan, Alaina, and Joshua Godby Waynesboro, GA; Sierra, Malia, Jala, Rianna and Layla Moore, Charlotte, NC; Ciera Smith, Warner Robins, GA; Kyle and Daizsha Smith, Register, GA, Shay, Myra, Kellie, Keon and Fredrick, Jr., Portal, GA; one great grandchild, Dylan Collins, Register, GA; two brothers, Mr. Thurman Kilcrease and Willie Kilcrease both of Statesboro, GA; two sisters, Minister Lorene Mitchell, Savannah, GA and Mrs. Juanita (Jerrell) Parrish, Statesboro, GA; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Franklin (Drucilla) Ellis, College Park, GA and Mr. Harold (Julia) Boston, Jr., Metter, GA; two aunts, Mrs. Maggie Kilcrease, Sylvania, GA and Mrs. Anna Ellis, Metter, GA; and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
