Mrs. Icy Lee Kennedy Ellis Collins was born February 2, 1919 to Mr. and Mrs. Marshton Kennedy in Cobbtown, Georgia. She was the third oldest of thirteen siblings. The Lord called and she answered on February 21, 2016, after an extended illness at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The Lord extended His saving and forgiving hands and Icy Lee accepted Christ at an early age joining her family’s church, Eden Primitive Baptist Church.

In her early adulthood, she met and married D. W. Ellis., who preceded her in death. This union was blessed of the Lord with four children. Later in life she married Claude Collins, who preceded her in death.

Icy Lee moved to Palm Beach, Florida while in her early forties. There she managed and operated a laundry and dry cleaning service and was a part time clerk at Wool Worth Exchange Stores.  She joined Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church and served faithfully while living there.

After retirement and being away for thirty years she returned home to Georgia.  Icy Lee rejoined her family church and served faithfully until her health began to fail. She never gave up her faith; she praised God all though her illness, it was well with her soul.

Icy Lee was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Eudell, Geraldine, Mildred, Elizabeth and Nora V.; four brothers, Handy, Repherd, Lankford and Marshton, Jr.
Icy Lee leaves to cherish her fond memories, one daughter, Elaine Ellis, Cobbtown, Georgia; three sons, Charles (Marilyn) Ellis, St. Augustine, Florida, Delonzia (Christine) Ellis, Eshi “Baby Boy” (Janice) Ellis, both of West Palm Beach, Florida; one sister, Exie B. Eason, Cobbtown, Georgia; two brothers, Elder Birket Kennedy, Cobbtown, Georgia and Wilbert Kennedy, Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren, Raynita (Cedrick, Jr.) Mitchell, Adrienne Ellis, Keshia (Antonia) Wilson, Kasonga (Jalena) Ellis, Kenya Ellis, Jamal Turner; twelve great-grandchildren, two  grandnieces that she raised, Mattie A. Kelley and Barbara A. Kelley; one grandnephew, Richard Kelley, all of Columbus, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
