Hennie Doris (Taylor) Garrett

Hennie Doris Taylor Garrett was born to Earnest and Juanita Whitaker Taylor on January 13, 1940 in Candler County, Georgia. She departed this life on June 5, 2015 in Richmond County, Georgia. 
At an early age, she joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church. Later, she joined Crown Christian Church International in North Augusta, South Carolina.
Hennie relocated to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania as a young woman there she attended the University of Pittsburg. At the age of nineteen she began her nursing career that lasted for fifty years. Upon return to her hometown in Georgia, she gained employment with Metter Nursing Home (Azalea Health and Rehabilitation). She worked there for over for over thirty-one years. 
Hennie loved to crochet and she was an avid collector of crystal bells, plants and giraffes.  She enjoyed singing and she was a member of the Tri-County Mass Choir and St. Matthew Church Choir for many years.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish precious memories; one son, Edward (Karlene) Garrett, Evans, GA; seven grandchildren, Demia Rosser, Corey Smith, Orlanda Garrett, RaKime Chandler, Jasmine Denny, Alexis Denny and Shamarae Garrett; four great grandchildren, three nephews, Ernest W. Taylor, Ronald Taylor and Kevin Byrd; one niece, Sevi Roberson, a host of great nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
