Mr. Harold Parrish passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia. Harold was born on December 4, 1942 in Metter, Georgia to the late Willie and Maggie Lou Parrish.
Harold attended the public schools of Candler County, Georgia and was a member of the 1962 graduating class of Candler County Training School in Metter, Georgia. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1966. After his tour of duty, he made his home in Detroit, Michigan. He was initially employed by the Ford Motor Company. Later, he gained employment with the Greyhound Bus Company. Harold drove for the bus company for thirty years before retiring due to failing health.
Several years ago, Harold returned to Metter to care for his ailing mother. He became an active member of Mount Zion Methodist Church in Pulaski, Georgia. He remained devoted to his church until his passing.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Ulysses Parrish, Willie Baldwin, Willie James Parrish, Jr. and Sanford Parrish; three sisters, Sadie Ruth Bennett, Betty and Carolyn Parrish and a niece that was like a sister, Jacqueline Parrish Evans.
Harold leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters, Margaret Hall of Waycross, GA and Marylin (Thomas) Hall of Tampa, FL, a special friend, Paul Sanders of Metter, GA; a god sister, Brenda (Reverend Larry) Gould of Metter, GA and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
