George Willie Parker

George Willie Parker, a talented guitarist and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on April 27, 1956, in Augusta, GA, George was one of ten children of his mother, Marie Bradshaw. He attended the public schools of Richmond County, Georgia.

George recently became a resident of Metter, GA, where he spent the latter part of his life. Throughout his career in the music industry, George's remarkable guitar skills captivated audiences and left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to hear his melodies. His passion for music was undeniable, and he also found joy in singing and watching western movies.

In addition to his professional achievements, George cherished his role as a father. He leaves behind his beloved son, George Parker, Jr., who will carry on his father's legacy with pride and love.

George was surrounded by a large and loving family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Bradshaw Harris, and two siblings: Mary Frances Parker and Willie Parker.  He is survived by his seven siblings: Linda Rashad, Leroy Parker, Robert Parker, Mary Alice Parker, Betty Murphy, Rodney Parker, and Clarence Parker, several nieces, and nephews. Their bond ran deep, and George's presence will be deeply missed by each of them.

Reflecting on his life, George often expressed his gratitude and happiness to his niece, Elnora. He found solace and contentment in the time he spent on this earth, making a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

George Willie Parker will be remembered as a talented musician, a devoted father, and a cherished family member. His love for music and his kind spirit will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
