Earnest Burton

Earnest Burton was born on November 13, 1931, in Candler County, Georgia to the late, Mr. Emory Burton and Mrs. Wadie Christine Gordon Byrd. On Wednesday morning July 20, 2016 Earnest Burton departed his life at the VA Hospital in Dublin, GA.

Earnest was educated in the public schools of Emanuel County, Georgia.  He was enlisted in the United States Army. Later he devoted his life to becoming a full-time farmer. He was a member of Sam's Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Earnest was united in marriage to the late Annie Lee George Burton to this union six children were born.

 He was preceded in death by two sons, Emory Burton and Dennis Burton.

He leaves to cherish his love and memories, one son and daughter-in-law, Earnest Lee Burton and Mrs. Lela Burton of Metter, GA; three daughters, Ommie L. Burton and Nazareen B. Jackson both of Metter, GA; and Carolyn D. Perkins of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Maggie Brookins and Vera Burton; brother-in-law, Ollie Brookins; Sister-in-law, Mattie W. Burton,  fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
