Doris G (Boston) Joiner

Doris Boston Joiner was born August 16, 1936 to Mr. Van Buren and Mrs. Lottie Mae Parrish Boston in Candler County, Georgia. She attended the public schools of Candler County and resided in Candler County her entire life.

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served Him faithfully through her membership at Sams Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She served as an usher for over twenty-five years. Mrs. Joiner was employed in the Surgical Nursing Department at Candler County Hospital for over thirty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Joiner; one daughter, Joann Mincey; and one son, Arthur Holmes.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Eddie Joe (Linda) Grant of Metter, GA, and Tony Holmes of Savannah, GA; one daughter, Brenda Edenfield of Savannah, Ga; two stepsons, Earl Joiner and Joe Joiner both of Metter, Ga; one stepdaughter, Margaret (Dennis) Weaver of Twin City, Ga; one brother, Van Boston, New York, N.Y.; three sisters, Mae Lottie of New York, N.Y., Betty Gordon of Miami, Fl. and Carolyn Byrd of Hephzibah, Ga; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
