Dan Johnson, Jr.

Dan Johnson Jr., was born on July 6, 1933, to the late Dan and Lottie Johnson in Register, Georgia. He passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Candler County Hospital, Metter, Georgia. 

Dan was hardworking, strong, and a gentleman who loved his family whether they were near or far.  After living in multiple locations, including Los Angeles, California, Dan settled down in a small town in Georgia, called Metter.

Dan attended a public school in Bulloch County, Georgia. Later in life, he gained employment as a sheet metal worker.  Dan was proud to have retired as a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #170.  
 
A jack of many trades, Dan enjoyed many hobbies that allowed him to utilize his hands, restoring whatever he touched to pristine condition.  Motorcycles, cars, and firearms, were a few of his favorite items to restore but his favorite thing to restore was the hearts of others.  He had a knack.  His home was considered a “Safe Haven,” for all that entered.        

He also had a strong love for the outdoors, his personal piece of Heaven, here on Earth.  Dan spent all of his spare time traveling, fishing, hunting, and hanging out with family and friends.     

He is preceded in death by one brother, Enoch Johnson and three sisters, Reba Jackson, Marie Jackson, and Melrose Blanks.

Dan is survived by two daughters, Lenesser Johnson and Glenda Johnson; grandchildren, Traumaine J. Johnson, Daniel E. Johnson, Sr., William J. Johnson, Ivory Weathersby, III and Marcus D. Johnson; great grandchildren, Averi M. Johnson, Naesean L. Johnson, and Daniel E. Johnson, Jr.; three sisters, Wilma Hodges, Lizzie McCall, and Zodie Babcock and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
