Welcome to the memorial page for

Clifford W. Bostic, Sr.

August 12, 1937 ~ February 15, 2016 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Clifford W. Bostic, Sr. was born to the late Albertha Donaldson and Roy Brown, Sr. on August 12, 1937 in Portal, GA.  He departed this life on February 15, 2016 in the comfort of his home in Metter, GA.

His birth name was Clifford Wade Donaldson, and at an early age his last name was changed to Bostic by the family (Rosa Brady and Jesse Bostic) who raised him.  Clifford received his early education at the Willow Hill Elementary School in Bulloch County, GA.  He attended Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Portal, GA.  At the age of 14, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL where he lived most of his adulthood.

After moving to Fort Lauderdale, FL, Clifford decided he wanted to become a commercial truck driver.  He attended truck driving school in Florida where he received his CDL and drove a big wheeler truck. He traveled cross country in the U.S., Canada and other bordering countries.   Later years, Clifford became an entrepreneur – owning his own trucking business and a cleaning service.  His passion was driving his favorite “Big Red” and taking pictures of the beautiful scenery as he traveled across the U.S. and other bordering countries.

Clifford was very proud and supportive of his sons and grandsons who are professional football players. Some of the teams he named were the Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He loved getting to know and spending time with his relatives – many of whom he did not meet until his adulthood.  For those who knew Clifford, many will remember him as a giant of a man with a very generous heart in helping those in need.  He moved back to the State of Georgia in the Year of 2007 where he spent the remaining years of his life.

Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Howard Bostic; two sons, Clifford W. Bostic, Jr. and Timothy Bostic; two step-children, Ira Howard and Gwen Keel; four sisters and three brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memories four daughters, Anita Bostic, Regina Bostic, AnToya Blunt (aka LaToya Bostic) and Cassandra Bostic; two sons, Clifton Bostic and Grag Bostic of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two step-daughters, Gloria Howard and Valerie Davis (Mike); three step-sons, Lawrence Howard, James Carter and David Carter of Fort Lauderdale, FL;  twenty-three grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and several guard-sons; three sisters, Joan Jones and Margie Dixon (Preston) of Savannah, GA and Bertha Smith of Miami, FL; six brothers, Jamie Lee Smith of Miami, FL, Willie Smith of Metter, GA, Zim Brown (Carolyn) of Atlanta, GA, Aaron Brown (Angela), and Rev. Robert Brown (Estell) of Savannah, GA and Charlie Brown (Marie) of Mississippi; a host of other relatives and friends.
