Charles B. Mobley, Sr. was born on May 13, 1939 in Tattnall County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Wesley D. and Tripholia Mobley. He entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2016, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia.
Charles attended Tattnall Industrial High School. He retired from the United States Army and the National Guard after serving for twenty six years. Charles attended Gupton-Jones Mortuary College in Atlanta, Georgia and received his certification in Mortuary Affairs.
He was a dedicated member of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, Reidsville, Georgia. He was a past member of St. Mathews # 585 Masonic Order. Charles was a man of many trades and talents, embalmer, farmer, truck driver and carpenter but mainly he was a hard working entrepreneur. He had a great love for life and family. His laugh was infectious to all that who knew him.
He is survived by a devoted wife of forty five years, Mary Mobley of Reidsville, GA; eleven children; four sons, Charles B. (Diana) Mobley, Jr. and Henry A. Mobley, both of Reidsville, GA, Rodney (Cathy) Mobley of Vidalia, GA, Charles E. Mobley of Norcross, GA,; five daughters, Maryann Mobley of Killeen,TX, Twanda (Roy) Spikes of Vidalia, GA, Sherry (Derrick ) Jones of Lyons, GA, Casaundra (Gerry) Young and Carmen Dillihunt of Reidsville, GA,; two adoptive children Demetria S. Jones and Garak M. Young; twenty three grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren; four brothers, James (Lutrell) Mobley of Reidsville, GA, Larry (Penny) Mobley of Claxton, GA, Wesley (Gail) Mobley of Jacksonville, FL, Newman Mobley of Athens. GA,; three sisters, Claudia Bell Jones and JoAnn Mobley of Reidsville, GA, Ezell (Robert ) Sharpe of Johnson Corner Community; host of nephews, nieces and a great friend, Theodore Harris of Reidsville, GA.
