Charles Ellis, Jr.

Mr. Charles Ellis, Sr., was born in Candler, County, Georgia on February 25, 1927 to the late Mr. Elliott McCleary and the late Ms. Maggie Mae Ellis. On Friday, January 15, 2016 at Azalea Health and Rehabilitation Center in Metter, Georgia, the Lord called him home peacefully.

Charles, affectionately known as Charlie, was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, New York and relocated back to Metter, Georgia in the early 1990’s. Once returning to Georgia, he became an active member of Victory Temple Church, Swainsboro, Georgia. Charles served faithfully on the Usher Board until his health began to fail.

Charles was married to the late Cretolia Bradley and to this union three children was born. After the death of his first wife, he later married the late Frankie Mae Rock.

Charles is preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Ellis.

Charles leaves to cherish many loving memories, two sons, Charles Ellis, Jr., Brooklyn, New York and Billy Ellis, New Haven, Connecticut; one stepson, Jubell Bradley, Brooklyn, New York; two brothers, Joe (Betty) Ellis, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Braziel Mosley, Portal, Georgia; one sister, Jackie (J.T.) Fuller, St. Petersburg, Florida; one grandson, Charles Jamaal Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Samara Ellis and Connor Ellis, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
