Bertha Lee (Steeley) Boykins

Mrs. Bertha Lee Steeley Boykins was born on April 30, 1933 in Garfield, Georgia to the late John Wesley Steeley and Maybell Mathis Steeley. On Saturday, July 30, 2016, she peacefully entered into eternal rest at her home.

She was educated in the public schools of Emanuel County, Georgia. Bertha accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Holy Zion Holiness Church, Twin City, Georgia, where she served faithfully until her health failed. 

Bertha was married to James Edward Boykins. She was a caregiver to many families in the community.  Bertha was known to be a kind lady with a strong faith in God. She was a giving lady who was willing to help anyone that she could.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, a daughter, Ollie Mae Williams, and seven siblings.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories: two grandsons;  Antonio Wright, Twin City, Georgia and Maurice (Danette) Wakefield, Orlando, Florida; one granddaughter and caregiver, Antoinette Garner, Twin City, Georgia; one sister, Mary Brown, Twin City, Georgia; four great grandchildren; Victoria Wakefield, Maurice Wakefield, Jr., Bianca Wright, and Dana Wright; two stepsons; Melvin ( Sandra ) Boykin and Calvin (Lizzie Ann) Boykin both of Metter, Georgia; a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.
