Barry Lynn Rutherford, born November 2, 1988, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 36.
He attended Metter High School, Ogeechee Technical College, and several vocational training institutions. Barry was affectionately known as his mother’s “Pride and Joy.” He had a deep love for sports, music, old cars, traveling, and most of all, his children, the true joy of his life.
A hardworking young man, Barry built a career in the warehouse industry and in construction, where he specialized in rebar installation and rigging.
Barry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Oscar and Juanita Thomas; paternal grandmother, Mary Thomas; father, Kevin Rutherford; brother, Willie Lacue; and nephew, Kwasie Williams.
To cherish his memory, Barry leaves behind his two children: Kwayzon Wright and Brooklyn Parker; his loving mother, Brenda Baddy of Atlanta, GA; and two brothers, Kwasie Baddy and Timothy Rutherford, also of Atlanta, GA.
He is also survived by five wonderful and devoted aunts and one uncle: Joe and Precious Conyers of Tampa, FL; Henrietta Carter, Mary Thomas of Miami, FL; Patricia Williams and Josephine Parrish of Metter, GA. Barry’s memory will also be held close by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless amazing friends and community members who have shown tremendous love and support.
Barry’s spirit, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
