Joe Rhons Mincey

Joe Rhons “Jerome” Mincey died Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  Joe was born September 6, 1960 to William J. Mincey, Sr. and Shirley “Artent” Byrd Mincey in Metter, Georgia.  He joined Steep Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and he attended the public schools of Candler County.  Joe had a great love for all of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.  His maternal grandparents , Robert “Tot” Byrd and Eloise Byrd assisted, greatly, in his upbringing.

He is survived by one son, Ashley  JoRhons Mincey of Atlanta; one daughter and son-in-law, Meghann and Marcus Sherrod of Metter; two granddaughters, Kiadra Williams and Marshanna Sherrod both of Metter; two brothers, William J. (Annette) Mincey of El Paso, TX and Robert Mincey of South Bend, IN; four sisters, Shirley “Lois” Kirkland and Rhonda (Theria) Jones of South Bend, IN, Belinda Evans of Statesboro and Jennifer Linares of Lithonia;    two uncles, Lonnie Byrd and Roy Byrd both of Metter; two aunts, Gloria B. Johnson of Metter and Joyce B. ( Robert) Cross of Twin City; many other loving relatives and friends.
