Elmore Ellis

Mr. Elmore Ellis was born in Metter, Georgia to the late Janie (Mincey) Ellis and Aldie Mincey on April 13, 1942. On February 18, 1964, he married the love of his life, Reta Mae Royal Ellis.

Elmore attended Candler County Training School. Later, he attended a vocational school and became a certified welder and auto mechanic. He worked, as a welder, at Thackston Steel Company for 19 years. Thereafter, he worked for the City of Metter as an auto mechanic, and retired after 15 years. At an early age, he attended Dixon Grove Baptist Church. Later in life, he began studying the bible with Jehovah Witnesses, which he enjoyed.  He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting.
